BOARD OF TRADE ENQUIRY. -
Melbourne, May 2.
Exhaustive enquiries have been made bythe Federal Crown Solicitor on behalf ofthe Board of Trade from mariners andothers in Australia who have been able togive any evidence bearing upon the sea-worthiness of the steamer Waratah. Theevidence, together with several confirmatory statements which have been made onoath, has been forwarded by the ControllerGeneral of Customs to the solicitor for theBoard of Trade. When the Australianevidence has been considered in conjunction with that obtained in England andSouth Africa, the board will probably present a report, in which it will give anopinion as to the fate of the missingsteamer.
