GRIM TRAGEDY.

The Advertiser (Adelaide) Friday 20 January, 1911.

THE INQUIRY:

Elsewhere seated at long tables covered
with charts were witnesses.
They chatted conversationally with their
neighbors. One noticed a row of women in
deep mourning seated behind the lawyers.
The women said little; they took no active
part in the enquiry, but every question and
answer seemed of absorbing interest. It
was this row of black-robed women who
recalled the grim tragedy underlying the
prosaic problem which the lawyers and
experts were discussing in a business-like
fashion.
