THE MISSING STEAMER
COMPETENCE OF THE CREW.
LONDON, Friday. .— Mr. Thomas
Summerbell (Labor) yesterday asked
several questions in the House of
mons respecting the manning
missing steamer Waratah,
suggestive of a weak and
crew being on board.
Mr. Winston Churchill, President of
the Board of Trade, refused to make
any statement pending the inquiry
which will necessarily be instituted.
The Inquiry came to the conclusion that 119 crew on board Waratah were satisfactory in every respect. But one does wonder where Mr. Summerbell came upon the suggestions that they were incompetent?
Rumours upon rumours upon rumours !
