£14.600 PAYABLE.

The Waratah's Crew.

LONDON, Wednesday Evening. — 

It is estimated that under the Workmen's 
Compensation Act £14.600 is payable 
to relatives of 116 of the crew of the lost 
steamer Waratah.

This implies that crew's families (excluding officers) received about £126.00 per person. Such was the compensation for sacrificing one's life for the Blue Anchor Line.
